Each teacher will design a special assignment/project for students to complete at the very beginning of the year. Students must finish reading both books before the first day of school because teachers will have lessons and assignments planned that rely on students having already read their books.
Students who have completed the summer reading, taken it seriously, and reflected on the reading should be in great shape to complete any assignment at the beginning of the year. Teachers will design their own assignments/activities to best fit the focus of their individual courses.
Remember: Summer reading is required for E9, E10, E11, E12, and AP English. It is not required for the dual credit (college) courses or electives: Advanced Composition, Advanced Literature, Speech, and Print Media.
