Overview
Our department's goal is to help foster a love for reading, and we believe this is best accomplished by encouraging summer reading. One of our favorite aspects of summer is that we have more time to read, and we hope to inspire our students to feel the same way!
We want our students to have fun reading and to choose materials that interest and inspire them. That's why we have made the summer reading options as flexible as possible. However, all books must be ones the student has never read before and that have not been made into movies.
Remember: Summer reading is required for E9, E10, E11, E12, and AP English. It is not required for the dual credit (college) courses or electives: Advanced Composition, Advanced Literature, Speech, and Print Media.
